Boyd Works

The Boyd Works Program is a Welfare-to-Work Program funded by the Kentucky Cabinet for Families and Children and Kentucky Works through Big Sandy ADD. It is a collaborative effort with the local Community Based Services Program, which makes all referrals, and the counseling services of Pathways.

Participants attend classes 30 hours a week. The goals of the program are:

  • To teach skills necessary to achieve and maintain a job leading to self-sufficiency
  • Provide support in removing employment barriers
  • Enhance career and/or post-secondary opportunities

The program (jointly with other adult education components) provides:

  • Essential skills/academic instruction
  • Pre-employability instruction
  • Short-term training
  • Job placement services
  • Counseling programs
  • Career exploration
  • Résumé services
  • Computer skills instruction

Classes are held at the Adult Education Center at 4818 Roberts Drive, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
