Full-text, comprehensive articles on current and controversial issues – Great for speech and research paper topics.

CQ Global Researcher 
Full text articles on current events and controversial issues with a global impact.   This database is ideal for speech and research paper topics.   

EBSCO Host Web Magazine and Journal Indexes
Academic Search Premier and 25 other specialized indexes.  Many articles with full-text and images.

Oxford Reference Online
Provides access to thousands of articles from the world's most trusted sources. Articles are from Encyclopedias, Dictionaries and other Oxford publications.  Articles are also cited for users.

Gale Databases

  • Academic OneFile  
    Academic OneFile includes several thousand full text, scholarly articles from the world's leading journals and reference sources. Includes articles from the subject areas of physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and several other subjects.  Includes full text coverage of the New York Times back to 1995. This database is updated daily.
  • Health Reference Center Academic – Use this database to find magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on: Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, HMOs, Prescription Drugs, etc. The material contained in this database is intended for informational purposes only.

Kentucky Virtual Library (KyVL)
A comprehensive collection of library catalogs and databases, including magazine and journal indexes.  Available to Kentucky residents only.  Please contact your Kentucky college or public library for password information.

Learning Express Library

LearningExpress Library is a web-based tool that provides instant access to the most comprehensive collection of test preparation tools, skill-building materials, and career resources available. Over 770 online practice tests and interactive skill-building tutorials are available, along with more than 130 eBook titles-all developed by expert academic and industry professionals. Also included is access to Popular Software Tutorials which provide a solid proficiency in software applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Windows and Mac operating systems.

New Users:

  • Click the Register button under the New Users section at the bottom of the page.
  • Enter your username, create a password, verify your password, and then click the Register button. Usernames and passwords must be a minimum of 6 characters and should not include spaces. Please save your username and password as they will be required each time you logon to the site.
  • Choose one of the Learning Centers on the left to access our resources.

 

Returning Users:

  • Enter your username and password on the Returning User Login section at the bottom of the screen.
  • Click the Login button
  • Choose one of the Learning Centers on the left to access our resources.
