ACTC College Camp Teachers Needed! ACTC College Camp is seeking teachers who enjoy working with children and who know a subject that children would like to learn.
Held at the College Drive Campus June 15-26 2009, College Camp offers afternoon classes for youth ages 6 thru 13. There are four one-hour class periods, from 12:30-4:30 p.m., and each class is designed for particular age groups-ages 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13.
Subjects can include natural and physical science, mathematics, art, writing, music, computers, social science, drama, history, heritage topics, or topics that may not be covered during the academic school year.
Previous College Camp instructors have been elementary through post-secondary instructors, elementary education majors, youth group workers, and art, music or craft specialist who want to help children discover new interests.
The College Camp program is a chance for teachers to develop a new unit, explore different educational methods and materials, or adapt a topic for all four age groups.

ACTC THEATRE and LIFELONG LEARNING Children’s Theatre Production Disney's ALICE IN WONDERLAND Jr.

This fast-paced stage adaptation of Alice in Wonderland features updated dialogue and new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as “I’m Late,” “The Un-birthday Song” and “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.” The production is based on the 1951 Disney film “Alice in Wonderland” and the novel by Lewis Carroll. Book adaptation and additional lyrics are by David Simpatico. Music adaptation/arrangement and additional music and lyrics are by Bryan Louiselle.
There are roles for over twenty-four boys and girls in third to ninth grades. All those auditioning will cold sing and read from the script, with no advance preparation. Music and scripts will be available at the auditions. A special mandatory meeting with the parents will be held during auditions.
Karen Curnutte will be the Musical Director and Production Director. Max Jackson, Music Professor Emeritus, will be the accompanist. Edward Figgins, Director of Theatre, is the Producer and Scenic/Lighting Designer. Paula Krepsik will be the Costume Designer. ACTC Theatre students will assist with the production.
This production is a Lifelong Learning enrichment course for young students.
