College Camp is an enrichment program for elementary and middle school students. Afternoon classes in the arts, natural and physical sciences, social studies, literature, computers and other subjects are selected to appeal to youth while supplementing the subjects offered during the school year.
2009 College Camp Dates June 15th-June 26th
ACTC College Camp Teachers Needed! ACTC College Camp is seeking teachers who enjoy working with children and who know a subject that children would like to learn.
Held at the College Drive Campus June 15-26 2009, College Camp offers afternoon classes for youth ages 6 thru 13. There are four one-hour class periods, from 12:30-4:30 p.m., and each class is designed for particular age groups-ages 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13.
Subjects can include natural and physical science, mathematics, art, writing, music, computers, social science, drama, history, heritage topics, or topics that may not be covered during the academic school year.
Previous College Camp instructors have been elementary through post-secondary instructors, elementary education majors, youth group workers, and art, music or craft specialist who want to help children discover new interests.
The College Camp program is a chance for teachers to develop a new unit, explore different educational methods and materials, or adapt a topic for all four age groups.
